Gift Days and Harvest Festival – This Sun 27th Sept.

We enjoyed the first of two Gift Days yesterday, and you can read all about the reason behind these by clicking Giving at CCC

During our second Gift Day this coming Sunday we are celebrating the Harvest. In our modern, urban context we are about as far removed from agriculture and seasons as it’s possible to be. However, it’s a really helpful principle for us to take stock, to thank the God of creation who promises to provide for all of our needs – including the bread on our table and the milk in our fridges.

At the same time, we want to express our love for tIMG_1495hose around us in Crawley who struggle to feed themselves or their families. For this reason, we will not only be praying some wonderful ‘Thank you’ prayers as a church family, but we are also encouraging everyone to bring as much dried and tinned food as they can for us to pass onto Crawley Easter Team. This authentic part of our worship is something we can all participate in, and it will enable the Easter Team to support the struggling and the disadvantaged across the town.

In addition, please bring toiletries shampoo, toothpaste etc and biscuits which will be given to East African YWAM training delegates in Kenya next week via Ali Swann.

And don’t worry….you’ll have another opportunity to give into the mission of the local church through the Gift Days at the same time!
